- The Clarity comes next. Clarity refers to the amount of blemishes and inclusions. The smaller blemishes and inclusions do not affect the value as much as the larger ones. Especially if they are visible in the crown or top center of the stone. All diamonds are imperfect. Value comes from having only microscopic blemishes and inclusions.
- The next is Carat. This term actually refers to the total weight of the diamond. It is commonly thought a term referring to size. A bad cut can make a diamond seem smaller than it is actually.
